WORD IS BOND

The primary focus of this website is to address the so-called "War On Terror" being waged by the United States and Canada. While I may go off into other topics once in a while, most of my comments will be related to my stated focus. This is an issue that I personally need to address as I feel it is a neglected one. I always try to identify where I am most needed and I help there. It is very common for the layman person to stay away from this issue as it could be a daunting one to tackle and, quite frankly, intimidating. It is my goal to encourage and mobilize the Muslim community to get involved in activist initiatives revolving around the topic even from social distance. I make no apologies about my focus and what community I primarily identify myself with. If people from other communities (regardless of what you use as an identifying mark) are mobilized or encouraged as well, that is an important achievement also. I love Canada and this is doing my part to make sure that my country remains beautiful.

Nevertheless, I am quite aware of the intimidating nature of the "activist community". Sometime's there are those who I call "emo activists" who attempt to shove other issues down your throat while you are focused on one issue for the sake of unity. While they seek solidarity with you on one topic and provide assistance, they will spurn you if you refuse to mix a whole plethora of topics into one pot. They are usually those who make loaded assumptions about your morality, and they try to test where you stand while mistaking their mind-numbing idiocy with 'complex understanding'. Again, letting their emotions dictate their logic.

In closing, if you do get involved in something, it is important to assert your focus and not to allow anyone to dictate what you should focus on. Aside from that, judge on a case by case basis (ie. what issues belong together and what does not). I am speaking from personal experience, it will be better in the long run if you always assert yourself.

Speaking to Muslims in North America, make sure that our goals are dictated from within and not from the outside.
